Police State - Blackwater contracted to evict people in foreclosed homes
Turn the fight against the Supreme Court
You watch. If there are any vote fraud instances that throw the election to McCain, just remember that Scalia was the scumbag that gave the presidency to W., and that he's Dick Cheney's hunting buddy.
Think about that, then think about the last 8 years. Direct your anger to the source.

Blindness Across Cultures
A young student sits at the Nguyen Dinh Chieu School for the Blind in
Hanoi, Vietnam, in this file photo. He has no eyes due to the
blanketing of Vietnamese forests, including villages, with Agent
Orange, a highly toxic defoliant, by the U.S. Air Force during the
Vietnam War.

Presidential Debate Reactions: Pundits Weigh In
Political Wire is the most spot on in my opinion.
If there was one word that kept coming up for me all night, it was OLD. Old in McCain's mannerism, his movement, his attitude, and certainly his ideology. Why bring up so much history?
His two references to his hero Ronald Reagan were undermined by his professing of his anti-Reagan stance on Lebanon. By tomorrow, his already self-contradicted comparison to his [other] hero Teddy Roosevelt will be torn apart by a simple Google search which will display examples of his support for a big fat pork barrel project of the aircraft carrier that he helped force on the taxpayers.
As for the winner of the debate, anyone who thinks it was a draw needs to put down their cup of Kool-Aid. I'm happy to admit that Obama flubbed a few responses, and that he let me down more than once when not directly answering some of the questions. But McCain had every opportunity in the world to present his vision for America's future, and while he said he had one, he never presented it, nor came remotely close to providing an example of why he should be the leader of the greatest country on Earth, apart from just suggesting that we should take him at his word, a word most people cannot trust anymore.
When you see the forest, Obama is all evergreen, while McCain is a lone Bristlecone Pine, stubbornly resisting the weathering of time.

A(nother) personal attack on Tom Brokaw
McCain pretends that he's an honest "maverick", even though his record clearly shows that he's a corrupt, compulsive liar, easily bought off with a pittance. He's suddenly a maverick when he pretends to buck his party once or twice (only after that party bucked - more like 'fucked') him first? McCain is a fraud and a liar. Pity on those who are too blind or stupid to see that.
Brokaw, on the same hand, pretends that he's a ruff and gruff newsman, when in fact he is just a smarmy actor poorly performing as a newsman, much like Stone Phillips. Apparently, if you have enough "gravitas", you can fool people into thinking you know what you're talking about. Stephen Colbert has put the truthiness to that power, whereas Brokaw has only sought power.
Now we recently learned that recently Brokaw has taken to abusing that power he has so long sought, just like McCain has done with his. Tommy Boy took to shoving some folks around at NBC to force Olbermann and Tweety off of anchor positions recently because he didn't like that they were speaking unwelcome truths about his good friend John McCain, the war hero. (You should know that Brokaw has a hard-on for war heroes, as I've mentioned before. Read his books to find out, but get them from the library so as not to give that overpaid blowhard any more money that he doesn't deserve.) In their place, Tommy has proferred his pathetic minion, David Gregory. I'll save my vitriol for Gregory for a later post.
Believe it or not, I actually rank Brokaw and Gregory in that muck that inexplicably exists beneath the bottom-feeders like Hannity and O'Reilly. See, Hannity and O'Reilly may say that they are "fair and balanced journalists" with tongues firmly planted in their cheeks, knowing full well that the entire statement is completely false. But they don't pretend to be fair, nor balanced, nor even journalists.
Conversely, Brokaw - and Gregroy - say and pretend that they are fair and balanaced, when in fact they are neither. And they are not journalists in the true sense of the word. That is far and away worse, because they are on that same level as McCain and W. They claim to be worthy of respect, and claim to be doing hard and ungratifying work, and they martyr themselves on the crosses of false humility and imagined moral superiority, when all the while their actions betray their true motives of hunger for access and power.
Suffice it to say that I think McCain, Brokaw, Gregory, and George W.
Bush are all cut from the same cloth, and I wouldn't use that cloth to
line a dog's bed.
It is shameful that so many people have been fooled for so long by these callous, craven self-serving power-mongers. It is gratifying to see the twilight setting on the disasterous ruins these abusers have left in their wake. But, it is exciting to see the dawn of a new America rising for people who have struggled long and hard to ensure the Idea of America is never lost, nor stagnant, but always progressing towards the goal of shining brighter as a beacon of hope and prosperity, but most importantly - equality.

Why does McCain take cover behind General Petraeus?
What does that say about McCain, someone who so dearly wants - and so clearly feels entitled to - the job as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces? Immediate metaphors that come to mind are like a CEO letting the VP of sales call all the shots. Or, a bar owner letting the bartenders call the shots (no pun intended).
McCain is displaying all of the qualities of a weak mid-level manager vying for a shot at the executive position without having a clue as to how the company even works. He seems instead to believe that bravado and bluster is all that is needed to make everyone think you know what you're doing, at least to the point that maybe you'd at least intimidate them enough to fear from challenging you. McCain is NOT displaying any acceptable qualities of someone with true leadership skills.
McCain is, however, really displaying the qualities of a small man still struggling to escape from under the oppressing shadows of bigger men. John Sidney McCain, III still cannot accept that he can never live up to the role he fabricated for himself in an effort to please his father (Junior) and his grandfather, the patriarch.
Sound familiar? We've learned so very painfully what it is like to have a so-called leader abuse America's treasures of blood and fortune to pacify his personal failings as a small man in the eyes of his father. We don't need to tolerate anymore abuse of that sort.
Robert Gibbs Confronts Hannity Over Anti-Semite Guest
Sean Hannity: A noun, a verb, and "Oh my gawd, Obama is a terrorist!"
He's a racist of the most obvious kind. "I'm not anti-Semitic, some of my best friends are Jews."

Palin's ties to Iran
AIP leaders allege that Vogler (founder of the Alaska Independence Party), who was murdered that year by a fellow secessionist, was taken out by powerful forces in the U.S. before he could reach his U.N. platform. "The United States government would have been deeply embarrassed," by Vogler's U.N. speech, darkly suggests Clark. "And we can't have that, can we?"
...
Imagine the uproar if Michelle Obama was revealed to have joined a black nationalist party whose founder preached armed secession from the United States and who enlisted the government of Iran in his cause? The Obama campaign would probably not have survived such an explosive revelation. Particularly if Barack Obama himself was videotaped giving the anti-American secessionists his wholehearted support just months ago.

Debate Watch
At least there is one actor-playing-a-journalist who is starting to wake up:
...when you have Candidate A saying the sky is blue, and Candidate B
saying it’s a cloudy day, I look outside and I see, well, it’s a cloudy
day. I should be able to tell my viewers, ‘Candidate A is wrong,
Candidate B is right.’ And not have to say, ‘Well, you decide.’ Then it
would be like I’m an idiot. And I’d be treating the audience like
idiots.

Here's the trailer below, but head over to the site for the full-length video that connects McCain to the current economic crisis, and the trail back to his involvement in that last major financial crisis.
